India’s 79th Independence Day & Your Freedom to Celebrate Love in India, Your Way!
78 years ago, India woke up to freedom.
It wasn’t just the sound of a flag rising in the wind, it was the sound of millions breathing in a new life, one where dreams could be bigger than boundaries.
And today, as we stand beneath that same tricolour sky, we realise something:
Freedom is not just a page in history. It is the quiet courage to live, and love, on our own terms.
Weddings, in their own way, are little revolutions of love.
Once, they followed a fixed path. The same guest list, the same menu, the same way of doing things, because “that’s how it’s done.”
But slowly, something changed. Couples began choosing not just each other, but the way they celebrate.
- Some chose to marry under a banyan tree in their village, surrounded by the laughter of cousins.
- Some chose to stand on a beach, barefoot, reading vows written from the heart.
- Some chose a palace, not for grandeur, but because its centuries-old walls felt like home.
And some chose to keep it small, not because they couldn’t make it big, but because they wanted every face in the room to be someone they loved.
That is the beauty of the freedom we hold today.
The freedom to choose joy over pressure.
Meaning over excess.
Connection over spectacle.
At Plannersy, we see weddings not just as events, but as stories. Stories that breathe. Stories that remember the values we inherited from those who fought for a freer India: resilience, unity, and hope.
So, this Independence Day, our wish is simple:
May you always have the freedom to celebrate love in a way that feels like you.
May your wedding day feel less like a performance, and more like a promise.
And may we all remember: the greatest celebrations are the ones that honour not just love, but the world we live in.
Is it India’s 78th or 79th Independence Day in 2025?
It’s a question many ask each August, and the answer is simple. India gained freedom on 15th August 1947. In 2025, we are celebrating 78 years of independence, which makes it our 79th Independence Day celebration.
Because the first celebration was in 1947 itself, the count of days celebrated is always one number higher than the years completed.
Happy 79th Independence Day, from our hearts to yours. 🇮🇳
